(Valleyleaguebaseball.com) Daniel Brooks (South Florida C.C.), a sophomore infielder/outfielder, started the season a perfect 7-for-7 in the Turks’ first two games. Brooks went 3-for-3 in the Turks’ season-opening loss to Covington with two RBI. In the Turks’ second game, a 5-2 loss to Luray on June 8, Brooks went 4-for-4 with a double and a run scored. Brooks has hit safely in six of the Turks’ seven games and has seen action on the infield and in the outfield for the Turks (4-3), who lead the Southern Division by a half game over Covington. Brooks started the 2002 Valley League season with the Turks after his freshman year at the University of Florida, but an injury forced him to leave the Turks early in the 2002 campaign. Brooks transferred to South Florida Community College for the 2003 season and will return to Florida for the 2004 season. Through the Turks’ first seven games, Brooks is hitting .520 with three doubles, three runs, three RBI, two stolen bases and has an on-base percentage of .567.
