Turks Rained Out

6/29/2007 – Turk Tidbits

Friday night’s home game against the Front Royal Cardinals was rained out in the fourth inning. The Turks were up 2-0 when the skies opened up and it poured. After a half hour delay the game was called. The make up game will take place on Thursday, July 19th at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m. The Turks are off tomorrow but will be back at the VET on Sunday, July 1st against the Woodstock River Bandits. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Sunday night is SALUTE THE TROOPS NIGHT. All military and their families are the TURKS special guests and admitted free with their I.D. Fans are encouraged to participate during the night at the picnic tables to draw cards or write notes of encouragement to send to our troops in Iraq. This is especially close to home for Bob and Teresa Wease as their son-in-law, Captain Tim Miller and their nephew, Specialist Mark Lambert are both proudly serving our great country in Iraq. The TURKS plan to divide all of the cards between those two platoons. So please come out and send your prayers and good wishes from Harrisonburg and the TURKS baseball game to these brave men and women. The Harrisonburg Police Department Color Guard will present our countrys’ colors. Senator Mark Obenshain will throw out the first pitch and be on hand to meet and greet the fans. Come out and enjoy a relaxing night at the ball park and cheer your Harrisonburg TURKS on to a victory over the River Bandits!! Go TURKS!
