Two of the Harrisonburg Turks players were honored today by votes from the league’s 11 head coaches, broadcasters, and select media members who covered the league. Turks "lights out" relief pitcher Garrett Parker (Duncanville, Texas/Howard College) and outfielder Robert Taylor (Ingram, Texas/Arkansas Little-Rock) were selected to represent the Turks on the 2007 All Valley League Team. Parker finished 2-1 with a 0.84 ERA, 23 SO, eight walks, and eight saves in 21 1/3 innings. He did not allow a run until the postseason and ranks fifth in the league in saves. Parker, a rising junior from Duncanville, Texas will be transferring from Howard College to NAIA powerhouse, Oklahoma City University this fall. Taylor ranks third in the league with a .352 batting average. He scored 22 runs, had six doubles, four homers, 14 walks, 23 SO, 14 RBIs, a .420 on-base percentage, was 2-2 SB-ATT, and had a .988 fielding percentage.
