2003 Turks Alumni Cliff Penngton Makes Major League Debut with the Oakland A’s

The Turks want to congratulate Cliff Pennington for making his major league debut on Tuesday, August 12th with the Oakland A’s against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Pennington was a first round, 21st overall draft pick of the Oakland A’s in 2005 out of Texas A&M. In his fourth year of the A’s system, at Double-A Midland and Triple-A Sacramento, Pennington hit 280/404/352 in 440 at-bats. His BB/K ratio is 93/55, and he’s added 31 stolen bases in 37 attempts. Cliff lead all of minor league baseball with 93 walks and was tied for sixth in runs scored. He made his Triple-A debut in Sacramento earlier in the year. He also played in the Minor League Futures Game on July 13th, 2008. The Harrisonburg Turks and it’s fans wish Cliff Pennington continued success in his baseball career and will be watching from back here in the Shenandoah Valley of Virginia.
