Turks Alumni, Chase Sonen Named Preseason All American

Midwest Region Collegiate Baseball Pre-season All-American Team Names Chase Sonen The Harrisonburg TURKS congratulate Chase Sonen (RSr., Cary, Ill. Cary Grove), starting right-handed pitcher at Saint Josephs College,as he made the prestigious Pre-season All-American list complied by the American Baseball Coaches Association’s NCAA division II All-American Baseball Committee. Sonen, who finished the season with an ERA of 3.57, led the team with nine wins and 80.2 innings pitched. During Sonen’s two summer seasons with the TURKS Chase posted the following stats as a middle reliever and a starter: 2007 2.65 ERA 9 appearances and 1 save in 17.0 innings, 7 runs, 10 walks, and 18 strikeouts 2008 2.21 ERA 1-2 W/L record and 4 saves in 36.2 innings, 9 runs, 13 walks, and 40 strikeouts TURKS alumi and Saint Joseph’s Pumas catcher Mike Pericht (JR, Orland Park, Ill. Providence Catholic) was also mentioned as a player to watch the 2009 season. Pericht boasted an average of .299 last season with a team high 10 home runs and 60 RBIs. He is the top returning player with 118 total bases, 45 runs, and 20 doubles.
