For the last twenty years, Harrisonburg has had the benefit and the pleasure of having top notch players that also happen to be extraordinary young men from the NAIA power-house, Oklahoma City University as members of the TURKS. We can thank Baseball Coach Denney Crabaugh for providing such quality talent to the TURKS rosters. In appreciation the TURKS want to acknowledge the lastest achievement of Coach Crabaugh to our many fans that have enjoyed the performance of his talented players. Last week Coach Crabaugh joined the ranks of an elite group of coaches that have earned 1,000 wins in the record book. In his 21st year as OCU’s skipper, Crabaugh ran his head-coaching record to 1,000-313-2. Approximately 80 coaches are a part of this national successful coaching fraternity who have 1,000 career college baseball wins. Among NAIA baseball coaches, Crabaugh ranked ninth on the all-time win list and second in winning percentage entering the season. Crabaugh has built the nation’s winningest college baseball program over the past decade, posting 10 consecutive 50-win seasons. OCU had 583 victories from 1999-2008, more than such powers as Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) (521), Florida State (516) or Rice (510). Crabaugh has coached 106 future professionals. Congratulations Coach Crabaugh! Continued success to you and your OCU Stars.
