Valley Baseball League Releases the 2010 Schedule

Written by Megan Kogut James Madison University Intern The Valley Baseball League (VBL) released the summer 2010 schedule late January. The VBL will be composed of 11 teams this summer with the recent folding of the Fauquier Gators team. With the Gators missing from the league, there will be no divisions this season. All 11 teams will play as a league. The season will be composed of 44 games and the top eight teams will make the play-offs. The Harrisonburg Turks will kick off the VBL summer season in the Opening Night as the Turks will host the New Market Rebels in the brand new Veterans Memorial Park, Thursday, June 3. Game time is set for 7:30 p.m. The rest of the VBL will begin Friday night, June 4. Another date to mark on the calendars is Sunday, July 11 as the Turks will host the 2010 Valley Baseball League All-Star Game.
