Lunch with the TURKS at Chick-Fil-A Successful and Scrumptious

By Thomas Cornwell Boston College Intern

Harrisonburg—Today from 1:30-2:30pm the Harrisonburg TURKS hosted Lunch with the Turks at Chick-Fil-A on East Market Street in Harrisonburg. A large crowd was on hand to greet the TURKS players, have the players sign autographs, and eat the delicious chicken sandwiches and waffle fries that Chick-Fil-A serves up each day for its customers.

After the TURKS finished dining, they spoke with children and avid TURKS supporters, gave out Chick-Fil-A baseballs, and posed with the Chick-Fil-A cow for pictures in efforts to remind fans to “Eat More Chicken” and support TURKS baseball as they enter the heart of their season. The younger TURKS fans were excited to receive toy baseballs and meet players from across the country, promoting a bright future for TURKS baseball for years to come. The event concluded with the TURKS reminding those in attendance to support the TURKS tonight against Front Royal at 7:30pm at Veterans Memorial Park.

A reminder, the next TURKS special event will be held Friday June 25th when the TURKS play host to the Woodstock River Bandits at 7:30pm. The evening will be DuPont Community Credit Union Booster Night and fans presenting the coupon from Thursday’s Daily News-Record will be admitted free as the guests of generous TURKS sponsor DuPont Community Credit Union.
