2005 Turks Alumni Scott Cousins Makes it to the Show

Congratulations to 2005 Turks Alumni, Scott Cousins (USF) for his first major league hit today. Cousins ripped a walk off single to center field giving the Florida Marlins a 7-6 win over the Atlanta Braves in the 10th inning.

The 6’1″ 195 lb. left-hander was called up from Triple A New Orleans Zephers on Thursday to serve as the Marlins fourth outfielder for the rest of the season. Scott batted .285 with 14 home runs and 49 RBI in 118 games with New Orleans this season. He will see some playing time during September and is a candidate to make the roster out of spring training next season.

The 25 year old Cousins was selected in the 3rd round of the 2006 draft out of the University of San Francisco.
