Drew Granier Continues To Shine

Former 2009/2010 Harrisonburg Turk, Drew Granier (U. Louisiana- Monroe), just completed his second season in the minor leagues.  Granier was drafted in the 32nd round of the 2011 MLB Draft by the Oakland A’s.  The lanky right-hander just logged in an amazing season with the Burlington Bees.  Granier was the leader in strike outs in the Midwest League and second in strikeouts among all minor league pitchers for the 2012 regular season, including the Mexican, Dominician and Venezuela Summer Leagues.

The Oakland A’s pitching prospect recorded a 11-10 record, with 162 innings pitched, Granier posted 167 strikeouts, 53 walks, only 58 earned runs, and a 3.21 era.  Granier was named the 4/23/12 Pitcher of the Week and named to the Mid-Season All Star Team.

Here is an article recounting Grainer’s last start of the season for the Bees.
