Turks Announce Their 2013 Roster

The Harrisonburg Turks are proud to release their 2013 roster. The Turks continue to use their connections with coaches that were former Turks and Valley Baseball League players to put together their roster. Harrisonburg fans will once again see an exciting team with speed, power and good pitching.

Four players will return from the Turks 2012 Valley Baseball League Championship team. Shortstop R.J. Perucki (Texas San Antonio) returns for his third year while RHP Chris Pike (Fordham), second baseman Thomas Smith (Georgia Tech), and LHP Jordan Priddle (Delgado C.C.) come back for their second summer in Harrisonburg.

The pitching staff will consist of Auburn teammates and right-hand pitchers Justin Camp, Matt Schultz, and Craig Shirley, College of Charleston teammates RHP Tyler Fletcher and LHP Austin Heflin, Duke RHP Robert Huber, Georgia State LHP Garrett Ford, LaSalle RHP Mike McLeod, Wake Forest teammates and right-hand pitchers Nathan Jones and Connor Kado, Wingate RHP Brett Morgan, Winthrop LHP Sam Kmiec, Saint Joseph’s LHP Jake Harper, Texas San-Antonio RHP, Logan Onda and returners Pike and Priddle.

Catchers joining the team are T.J. Binder (Troy) and Josh Clark (Wingate).

The infield will be made up of Duke teammates Andy Perez and Jalen Phillips, Texas San-Antonio teammates R.J. Perucki and Mike Warren, Trae Santos (Troy), James Harris (Wake Forest) and returnee Smith.

The outfield will include Justin Korenblatt (LaSalle), Chance Bolcerek (Texas A&M), John Welborn (Texas San Antonio), Thomas Spitz (Wingate), and Jace Whitley (Winthrop).

The Harrisonburg Turks organization looks forward to another exciting and competitive summer of Valley League Baseball. We encourage all of our fans to come out and support “Your Turks and Your Town”. The Turks host the Covington Lumberjacks on opening night Friday, May 31st at JMU Veterans Memorial Park. Game time is 7:30 p.m.
