Pagan Drafted by the Mariners

Congratulations to 2010 Harrisonburg Turk, RHP Emilio Pagan for being drafted by the Seattle Mariners.  Pagan was the 297th pick in the 10th round in day two of the 2013 MLB draft.  Pagan played at Gardner-Webb before the summer he was in Harrisonburg but after that the right-hander transferred to Belmont Abbey.  His summer with the Turks Pagan struggled a bit on the mound and pitched in only seven games and produced a 15.68 ERA in only 10 1/3 innings pitched.  Pagan also contributed in the field and hit .254 in 59 at bats.  Pagan was more successful this season at Belmont Abby and struck out 39 batters in 34 innings pitched with 4 saves.
