Meet the 2015 UNC Greensboro Spartans
Jake Kusz, sophomore, is the starting catcher for the UNC Greensboro Spartans. During his freshman year, Kusz started in 22 of his 26 appearances. In those games, he collected 12 hits and 9 runs batted in. He also successfully threw out 12 runners trying to steal a base. Now in his sophomore year, he is currently batting .319 in 91 AB with 16 runs, 29 hits, 7 doubles, 3 home runs, and 15 RBIs.
Tripp Shelton, standing at 5’11 and 160 pounds, is a freshman infielder for the UNC Greensboro Spartans. Shelton helped lead his high school to the North Carolina 4A state championship and hit a 3-run home run in the decisive game of that series. Already making an impact, Shelton has hit .221 in 95 AB with 13 runs, 21 hits, 5 doubles, 2 home runs, and 15 RBIs.
Daniel Dulaney is a right handed freshman pitcher for the UNC Greensboro Spartans. Dulaney is from Raleigh, North Carolina. So far during his freshman stint, Dulaney has appeared in 8 games, 9.1 innings pitched with a 0-2 record and has held opposing batters to .206.
Bryant Stafford is a left handed relief pitcher for the UNC Greenboro Spartans. Stafford was named to the first team all-region honors during his last season at Southeastern Community College. During that season, Stafford was a perfect 7-0, threw six complete games, and also had an earned run average of only 2.25. As a freshman for the Spartans, Stafford maintained a 2.52 earned run average, striking out 15 batters over the span of 25 innings.
