Freshmen Seminoles Join Turks 2017 Roster

The Turks welcome freshman outfielder Ryan Mejia to this year’s roster from the Florida State Seminoles.

A stellar scorer, Mejia averaged 25 runs in 30 games his senior year at Alonso High School in Tampa, Florida during which the 6-1, 190-pounder boasted a .388 batting average.  Welcome to the team Ryan!

The Turks signed a second Florida State player, freshman Grant Stewart, to add a left-handed pitching threat. At 5-10, 175 pounds, Stewarts’ speed and accuracy at the mound secured him a spot as Perfect Game’s No. 15  left-handed pitcher in the state of Florida.  Throughout his senior year at Paxton High School in Paxton, Florida, Stewart allowed only one run over 45 innings pitched, ending the year with a 0.16 ERA. He was honored as the Small Schools All-Area Pitcher of the Year in 2016. Can’t wait to see you play, Grant!
