Stewart Returns for Another Season with the Turks

Left-hand hurler and former 2017 Turk, Grant Stewart, returns to Harrisonburg to join the pitching staff. Stewart had plans to join the Turks for a second season in 2018 but transfer plans to Troy University changed his plans. He will be a strong addition to our roster.

Prior to Troy, as a freshman Stewart pitched at Florida State for the legendary coach Mike Martin. Stewart earned a 1-0 record with a 4.91 ERA over 11 innings of work in 10 appearances, fanning 14 batters.

Stewart then transferred to NW Florida State CC in Niceville. He led the FCSAA with five complete games and two shutouts. He finished with a 9-3 record, and was named FCSAA Pitcher of the Week three times and was named All-Conference first team.

Stewart’s 2017 summer season in Harrisonburg he pitched 18.2 innings with a 0-2 record and a 5.78 ERA.

The 5’10” 175 pound left-hand pitcher is from Paxton, FL and is majoring in criminal justice. Welcome back to the Turks Grant Stewart!
