Hello Turks fans. We begin our introduction of 2020 Turks players with four James Madison University Dukes. Two are returning players from the 2019 Turks; LHP Liam McDonnell and short stop Nick Zona. The other two are JMU hurlers LHP Donovan Burke and RHP Matthew Kleinfeilter.
McDonnell, a 5-11 195 pound junior is from Oak Hill, VA. He is a Sport and Recreation Management major with a minor in Business. The right-hand pitcher had a productive 2019 summer for the Turks. He pitched in 22 innings had 21 strike outs and had a 3-1 record with a 4.09 era. McDonnell
Zona, a 6-2 200 pound sophomore is from Mechanicsville, VA. The right-hand short stop was also did a good job last summer for the Turks. He posted a .243 BA in 115 at bats, with 17 runs, 28 hits and 10 RBI’s. He started for JMU his freshman season in all 30 games before missing half the season with an injury. He posted a .337 BA with 18 runs, 33 hits, and 11 RBI’s. Zona was drafted out of Hanover High School in the 38th round by the New York Mets.
We also welcome two Duke freshman hurlers. Donovan Burke is 5-11 and 190 pound left-hand pitcher from Leesburg, VA. Matthew Kleinfeilter is 6-3 and 230 pound right-hand pitcher from Lancaster, VA
We look forward to watching these four JMU Dukes during their spring season and are excited to have them be important members of the 2020 Harrisonburg Turks.
