A Redbird Flies South to Play in Harrisonburg

We welcome Jake McCaw to the 2021 Turks roster. As a sophomore in the shortened 2020 season, McCaw hit .268 with a .512 slugging percentage for the Illinois State Redbirds, recorded 11 hits, two homers, and eight RBI in 14 games. He missed the 2019 season with an injury, but as a freshman in 2018, he appeared in 17 games and made 15 starts at both first and third base, as well as seeing some time one the mound. Standing at 6’3, the Bloomington, Illinois product was a two-time starter at Normal Community High School, slashing .419/.557.709 with five home runs, six doubles and two triples as a senior en route to a unanimous All-Big 12 First-Team selection. Both of his parents attended Illinois State; his father played golf for the Redbirds, while his brother played baseball at North Central College. McCaw is majoring in business.
