Pitching Coach Luke Scherzer will have two more lefties on his staff, meet Jack Goleski and Alex Munroe.

Goleski saw limited action on the mound for Pitt Community College in the shortened Covid season, making his first career start against Louisberg on February 12 in which he allowed just one hit and one earned run in five innings of work. A native of Mechanicsville, Virginia, the 6’3 southpaw played at Hanover County High School where he was named to the 2019 4B All-Region Team as a utility player.

Alex Munroe, as a true freshman in 2020, Munroe made five appearances out of the bullpen for Miami (FL), posting a 4.20 ERA and striking out five hitters to only one walk. This included a scoreless appearance against No. 1 Florida, who was 16-1 at the time of the season’s end. A native of Clermont, Florida, Munroe was a two-year varsity letterman at Ridge Community High School, helping the team to a district championship in his senior season. Munroe is majoring in broadcast journalism at Miami. He plans to play professional baseball and, after retiring, be a Major League Baseball commentator.
