Florida Tech head coach Jeff Tam, former 1992 Turks right-hand pitcher, is sending three of his Panthers to play for Harrisonburg this summer. Tam pitched for the Florida State Seminoles and went on to pitch from 1998- 2003 for 5 major league teams. Tam has been at Florida Tech since 2019 and previously coached at Eastern Florida State
College for 7 years.

Sam Schner, a 6-2 190 pound outfielder plays for the Florida Tech Panthers. The rising junior is from Boca Raton, Florida. He is pursuing a business degree with a concentration in sports marketing.
As a freshman in 2021 Schner started 27 of the games and posted a .239 batting average. In 88 at-bats he registered 21 hits, 12 runs, four doubles, a triple, 14 RBIs, a .306 slugging percentage, and a .327 on-base percentage. He was named All-SSC Defensive Player of the Year in center field having a perfect fielding percentage.
Sam has had a productive spring for the Panthers so far. He’s posted a .325 batting average starting 25 of the 25 games. He’s had 80 at-bats, produced 25 runs, 26 hits, 4 doubles, 1 triple, 19 RBIs, 14 walks, and has 12-13 stolen bases.
Aiden Pryzgoda, is a 5-11 195 pound lefty that pitches for Florida Tech. The rising sophomore is from Cocoa Beach, Florida. He graduated from Cocoa Beach High School. He is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
Aiden has a 2-1 record in 11.0 innings of relief work this spring for FT.
Luca Wentzel is a 5-10 175 outfield/utility player that plays for Florida Tech. The rising sophomore is from Wilton, Connecticut. He graduated from Wilton High School. Wentzel is pursuing a degree in business administration.
This spring Luca has a .333 batting average starting in 3 of the 15 games he’s appeared in. He’s had 24 at-bats, 8 runs, 8 hits, two doubles, 7 RBIs, 2 walks, and stolen 5-5 bases.
Two other panthers, Alex Carpenter (2018 Turks) has a 1-0 record and 1 save with a .00 ERA in 10.0 inning pitched with 10 strikeouts while Andres Rodrigues (2021 Turks) has a 1-0 1 save record with a 1.64 ERA in 11.0 innings pitched. Andres did an outstanding job for the Turks. In 28 regular-season innings, he went 3-2, 2.25, with a .200 BAA, 1.143 WHIP, 3.5 BB/9, and 11.6 K/9. He finished fifth in the league in ERA, seventh in strikeouts, eighth in BAA, and third in K/9. He pitched one shutout inning in the All-Star game and was named second-team All-Valley at the end of the year.
