Lee Moves South to Play for the Turks This Season

Jaylon Lee will move from the North Division of the Valley Baseball League to the South Division playing for the Turks this summer. Lee played for the Woodstock River Bandits in the VBL 2021 season. He posted a .290 average in 36 games with 115 at-bats. He produced 24 runs, 31 hits, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 9 home runs, 37 RBI, and 8 stolen bases.

Lee, a 5-11 200 pound outfielder plays for the Eastern Mennonite Royals. The right-hand senior is from Newport News, VA. He is a Recreational and Sports Management major and a Coaching and Kinesiology and Exercise Science minor.

Lee has earned a long list of accolades which include; the 2020-2021 EMU President’s Award, 2021 ABCA All-South Region Second Team, D3Baseball.com All-South Region Second Team, All-ODAC, and many Player of the Week awards throughout his years at EMU.

Lee has had an outstanding career at EMU. In 2021 Lee played in all 24 games for the Royals. He posted a .372 batting average with a .713 slugging percentage. Out of his 35 hits, 14 went for extra bases with seven home runs, five doubles, and three triples. The speed demon stole 11 bases on the season.

Lee experienced an injury in 2020 after playing five games with three hits, and a stolen base.

As a sophomore in 2019, Lee played in 40 games, hitting .320 with 48 hits and a team-high and second in the ODAC with 10 home runs. He also added 10 doubles, four triples, 42 RBIs, and 9 stolen bases. 

Lee’s freshman year he played in 36 games with a .270 average, three home runs, three triples, two doubles, 16 RBIs, and 12 stolen bases.
