Welcome the Spartans to Town for 2022

The Turks welcome four UNC Greensboro Spartans to Harrisonburg to play for the Turks this summer; Matt Kemp, Dallas Callahan, GC Jarman, and Bradley Botts.

Matt Kemp, a 6-1 188 pound rising sophomore at UNC-Greensboro from Randleman, NC will be playing the infield this summer at the VET. The business administration major was named on the 2021 All-SoCon Honor Roll.

This spring Kemp has posted a .304 batting average in 61 at-bats. He’s scored seven runs, with 17 hits, one double, one home run, 12 RBIs, and five walks. 

 

 

 

Dallas Callahan, is a 5-11 187 catcher at UNC-Greensboro. The rising junior from Inman, SC bats left and throws right.

As a freshman at Coastal Carolina, he started in 26 of the 32 games he played. He had a .179 average with 14 hits and 18 runs, with a .366 on-base percentage and a .256 slugging percentage.

Callahan played in the Coastal Plain League last summer for the Ashville Zookeepers and had a .242 batting average.

This season Callahan is hitting .197 for the Spartans in his 61 at-bats. He’s scored five runs, had 12 hits, one double, drove in three RBI, and had six walks. 

 

GC (Grant)  Jarman is a 6-4 182 pound infielder from Greenville, NC.

As a freshman, Jarman made six appearances on the Spartan roster. During his redshirt freshman year in 2021, he made eight starts in his 23 games. He had six hits, scored four runs, and had four RBIs. In 2021 he also was on the All-SoCon Honor Roll.

This spring for the Spartans he has posted a .267 batting average in his 30 at-bats. He’s scored four runs, had eight hits, hit three doubles, one home run, and brought in four RBIs.

 

 

Bradley Bott, is a 6-0 190 pound lefty that plays outfield at UNC-Greensboro. The rising sophomore is from Fort Mill, South Carolina.

In 2021 Botts appeared and started in four of the 26 games he played. He scored 11 runs and had 6 hits, including 3 doubles. In the classroom, he earned All-SoCon honors.

This season Bott is hitting a .250 batting average in his 28 at-bats. He’s scored five runs, had seven hits, with two doubles, and had four walks.

 

We look forward to having these guys play at the VET for the 2022 season.
