Teresa Wease Inducted into Valley Baseball League Hall of Fame

HARRISONBURG, Va. — Harrisonburg Turks’ operations manager Teresa Wease has been inducted into the Valley Baseball League Hall of Fame, the league office announced Wednesday afternoon.

Teresa has been working for the Turks since 1989, alongside her husband, Bob, who serves as the team president and has been the head coach since 2003. She has been referred to as the “team mom”, but her responsibilities go far beyond that, as she is responsible for advertising and marketing the team, selling sponsorships, coordinating player contracts and travel plans, scheduling events, hiring game day interns, and performing all the small tasks that make the team’s entire operation run as smoothly as possible.

Under Teresa’s leadership, the Turks have been very involved in the Harrisonburg community, as the team hosts Friday Family Fun Nights, Meet and Great breakfast at Chick-fil-A where players can interact with young fans, and has developed a partnership with the Massanutten Regional Library Summer Reading Program. Turks games are among the most highly-attended in the Valley League, as hundreds of fans pack Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park each night to watch the team play.

When she’s not working, Teresa can be seen at Turks’ games interacting with fans and helping cheer on the players to a victory. Both Teresa and Bob have made a huge impact on the many players, families, and fans that have passed through Harrisonburg over the decades.
