6/19/2006 – Turks Tidbits
Turks Tidbits Written By Matt Kerr, Broadcasting Intern Spotswood High School Graduate The Harrisonburg Turks’ bats struck again on Monday, giving the visiting Winchester Royals little hope to pull a victory. In the Turks’ 14-3 win, things started to happen early and often. For the second straight night, Harrisonburg racked up the score in the second, scoring six runs on six hits. The devastating Turks offense continued to pummel the Winchester pitchers all night, scoring runs in the third, sixth, and eighth. Key offensive contributors include Clint Robinson, who went three for four with four RBI’s, Brandon Harrigan, who went two for two, , and Ryan Rachal, who also went a perfect two for two with one RBI. The pitching also continued to be stellar, this time with Matt Baugh at the mound. In five innings, Baugh was able to give up only one hit, no runs, and record six strikeouts. The win is the second for Baugh this season. Harrisonburg rises to 8-7 with the win, only one game behind the second place Covington Lumberjacks. The Turks host the Haymarket Senators tomorrow night, Tuesday, June 20 at Veterans Memorial Stadium. Game time is 7:30 p.m. Come out and cheer on your Harrisonburg Turks to a victory!
