Harrisonburg (22-10 overall, 2.0 games back) The Turks went 4-2 last week and sit two games back of league leading Waynesboro in the standings. The Turks magic number is down to six for clinching a playoff spot. Harrisonburg finished second in the league with a 1.84 team ERA last week. Leading the way on the mound were pitchers Chris Chapman and Ryan Ellison who each appeared in two games, going six innings and allowing no earned runs. Chapman went 1-0 on the week as he gave up just two hits, struck out seven and held opponents to a .100 batting average. Starter Tim Wheeler went 1-1 in two starts as he pitched ten innings, allowed three runs, struck out nine and walked one. Offensively, utility man Brett Stewart lead the team with a .375 batting average, adding four runs scored, a double, four RBIs, two walks and a .438 slugging percentage to help lead Harrisonburg. Stewart, Turks third baseman from Appalachain State earned both Turks Player of the Week and Valley Baseball League Co-Player of the Week honors. Congratulations Brett for a great week of baseball.
