Written by Andy May, Broadcasting Intern Bridgewater college Harrisonburg- The Harrisonburg Turks cannot turn Rebel errors into runs as the New Market Rebels beat the Turks 3-1. Greg Bartleski (University of the South) opened the game off with a strike out and continued to pitch well for the Turks. Bartleski pitched seven innings, striking out seven and walking only two, but the Turks were unable to score the runs needed for the win. New Market’s Justin Edwards (New Orleans) hit a lead off single in the third inning to start a Rebel rally. Edwards finished the game 2 for 4 with a single and a double. Zach Maxfield (Florida Gulf Coast) knocked in Brandon Kirsch (NW Missouri State) and Brent Weiss (George Mason) to put the Rebels up 2-0. Maxfield was 1 for 3 with two RBIs. In the seventh inning, B.J. Wheeler (Oklahoma City) scored on an error by the Rebels catcher. The Turks were unable to put together a rally eighth and ninth innings. They were lead by David Mann (Oklahoma City) who was 2 for 4 and B.J. Wheeler who went 1 for 3 with a run scored. The Harrisonburg Turks (17-25) look to clinch a playoff spot as they travel to New Market to clash with the Rebels (15-27) one more time.
