Written By John Leonard The Turks have had some rather famous major league players get their start in the ‘Burg, like Mo Vaughn and Steve Finley. Two former players have recently signed new contracts. First of all, David Eckstein (Harrisonburg 95-96) just signed a one-year, "about" one million dollar contract with the San Diego Padres. David is coming off a 265/343/349 season with the Toronto Blue Jays and Arizona Diamondbacks. He will, reportedly, play second base for the Padres. Secondly, Logan Kensing (Harrisonburg 02) has resigned with the Florida Marlins. The contract is worth $650,000. Kensing went 3-1, 4.23, with a 1.50 WHIP, 5.4 BB/9, and 8.9 K/9 in 55 1/3 innings. Congratulations, guys!
