PENSACOLA, Fla. – University of Tampa baseball player Mike Schwartz has been named to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division II All-South Region Team as a second-team selection. Schwartz was also an all-region selection by Daktronics.
Schwartz, a junior from Montville, N.J., led UT with 14 home runs, 58 RBIs and 70 hits in his first year as a Spartan. The Hillsborough Community College transfer also hit .368 with 12 doubles as the team’s designated hitter.
Schwartz will be playing summer baseball for Manager Bob Wease of the Harrisonburg Turks, member of the Valley Baseball League in Virginia. The Turks welcome Mike and looks forward to seeing his bat make an impact for the team.
