Written by Matthew Vanover James Madison University Sports Management Intern Harrisonburg, VA – The Turks will open their 2009 home campaign this Saturday evening, June 6th, as they host New Market Rebels at James Madison University’s Long Field Mauck Stadium (5pm start time).

The Turks have once again revamped their roster with a plethora of young prospects from across the country.

Come out, meet, and support your new Turks during the summer of 2009 as we give the final farewell to Long Field Mauck Stadium on James Madison University’s main campus.

For returning fans that have enjoyed promotions in previous years, this Saturday June 6th is your night. The “June is Dairy Month Booster Night” is Opening Night. That’s right. This year, we want to kick off the season with a bang.

For fans who don’t remember, and for those who don’t know, “June is Dairy Month Night” is a great night for people of all ages. While enjoying competitive baseball, fans may be entertained by promotions such as the “Milk Chugging Contest”, the “Sack Race”, or try your hand at “Milking the Cow”, accompanied by plenty of free dairy products.

IN ADDITION: Saturday Night is also DARE Graduate Recognition Night. Young, proud children who have graduated from the DARE program that wear their DARE t-shirts not only get in free, but they get to treat their families to a free entry as well. Kids wearing their DARE t-shirts will be in for a pleasant surprise when Officer MIKE makes a guest appearance.

Come prepared for an evening of fun as the Turks kick off their home campaign this Saturday, June 6th at Long Field Mauck Stadium on JMU’s main campus at 5:00 p.m.
