07/25/2011 – Turks Tidbits

The Valley Baseball League have released the Divisional Player/Pitcher of the Week. Congratulations to the Harrisonburg Turks second-baseman, Sam Dove (Georgia Tech) for being named the Central Division Player of the week.

Dove hit .524 with 11 hits in 21 at-bats. He had two doubles, drove in eight runs, and walked twice.

The Harrisonburg Turks have also selected their Player of the Week. This week the award will be shared by Sam Dove (Georgia Tech) and centerfielder Jay Gonzalez (Auburn).

Jay Gonzalez spent the whole week getting on base via hits and walks–Sam Dove spent his week knocking Jay in!

Sam hit .524 with 2 doubles and 8 RBI. Jay had 2 doubles and scored a whopping 9 runs!
