2013 Valley Baseball League All-Star Game

HARRISONBURG, VA.  –  New VBL Commissioner, Don Lemish has announced that the league directors voted to annually conduct the All-Star game in Harrisonburg because of it’s central location and excellent playing field.  The 2013 VBL All-Star Game will be played on Sunday, July 7th, in Harrisonburg at James Madison University Veterans Memorial Park.

Previously, the All-Star game rotated around the twelve team league to a different location each year.  However, the directors voted that the game would be hosted by the Valley Baseall League rather than by an individual “host” team.

All teams will share responsibility for conducting the event.  Teresa Wease of the Harrisonburg Turks will be the All-Star events coordinator assisted by Col. Don Harper, the league’s Assistant to the President.

The annual contest will again pit the North against the South.

Aldie, Charles Town, Front Royal, Strasburg, Winchester and Woodstock make up the North squad.

Covington, Harrisonburg, New Market, Rockbridge, Staunton and Waynesboro comprise the South squad.

General admission tickets to the game are $5.00 for adults, $3.00 for senior citizens/children under 12.

Prior to the game, the VBL All-Stars will hold a Home Run Derby and a 60-yard dash competition for the MLB scouts in attendance.
