Kalbfleisch named first Turk of the Week

The 2013 Harrisonburg Turks season is under way, meaning it is time to announce our first Player of the Week! The Turks are currently 3-3 in large part to outstanding play from left fielder Eric Kalbfleisch, a 6’3″ sophomore from UNC-Greensboro. The left hander has been on fire at the plate to start the season for the Turks: in six games, Kalbfleisch is leading the Turks with a batting average of .500 with 12 hits and 7 RBIs. The North Carolina native is not only leading stat lines for the Turks, but if off to arguable the best start of any player in the VBL. His 12 hits have him tied for first among all Valley League players, while his batting average ranks second and his RBIs rank third.

Kalbfleisch’s wicked start has the Turks only a game and a half out of first place. With new players still arriving in Harrisonburg every day, the stability of Kalbfleisch’s bat will be a weapon the Turks will rely on all season. Congrats to Eric for being named the first Player of the Week for the 2013 season!
