SPAIN RETURNS TO HARRISONBURG
Bobby Spain played baseball for the Turks in the summer of 2006, and looks forward to returning to Veterans Memorial Park this summer as an Assistant Coach. He attended Oklahoma City University from 2004-2007, when he was drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 19th round. In 2007 while a junior at OCU, Bobby played shortstop and was (named) a First Team NAIA All-American. That year, Bobby hit .414 with 20 HRs and 76 RBIs. Bobby played five years of professional baseball, and during that time was named to the 2008 All-Star team of the Class A South Atlantic League. Bobby is a graduate of Oklahoma City University with one year of graduate school completed. He is a hitting and fielding instructor in Oklahoma City, and currently is an Assistant Baseball Coach at Oklahoma City University.
Chris Munoz is also an Assistant Coach at Oklahoma City University. Originally from Fresno, CA, Coach Munoz played in the infield for the Oklahoma City University Stars from 2011-2013. After receiving his degree from OCU, Coach Munoz played a year for the Evansville Otters of the independent Frontier League. In 2013-2014 Munoz was an Assistant Coach at Rio Hondo Community College. This year Munoz had the opportunity to return to his alma mater to help coach the OCU Stars. In Harrisonburg this summer, Munoz will work with the Turks pitching staff.
