Due to injuries and school issues several players have recently left the Turks requiring the team to sign a few new players; catcher Erik Garcia and RHP Donte Lindsay.
Erik Garcia is a 5-11, 215 pound, senior, catcher from Mission Texas. He began attending NAIA powerhouse Missouri Baptist College in 2013. This summer in the Valley League before moving over to the Turks Garcia played on the Charles Town Cannons. In eight games and 30 at-bats with the Cannons, Garcia had six hits, six runs scored, one double, a home run, six runs batted in, two walks and eight strikeouts. In limited action so far for the Turks, Garcia is 0 for 5 with two strikeouts. Garcia did not commit an error while playing for the Cannons and has not committed one while playing for the Turks. Garcia before attending Missouri Baptist College attended Weatherford College in Weatherford Texas. In 35 games played with Weatherford, in the 2012 season, Garcia hit .252 with three home runs and 19 runs batted in.
Donte Lindsay is a 6-2, 185 pound, junior from Cleveland Ohio. He began attending Bethune-Cookman College in Daytona Beach Florida in 2014. Lindsay pitched briefly this season for the Charles Town Cannons. In three games, three relief appearances, he pitched 3.2 innings, giving up three hits, four earned runs, walking four and striking out seven. In two seasons at Bethune-Cookman Lindsay is 1-5 with a 6.92 ERA in 35 games, five starts. Lindsay was a two-sport star at John F. Kennedy High School in Cleveland Ohio he played both basketball and baseball. On the baseball team, Lindsay pitched and played the outfield.
