Turks Welcome Pryor to the Flock

JoininJonathan Pryor 2016g his previously-profiled Wake Forest Demon Deacon teammates, Jonathan Pryor is a speedy, junior outfielder from Atlanta, Georgia. With 39 starts at the corner outfield spots, Pryor has batted .263 with 1 HR, 17 RBI and a 2nd on the club, .439 on base percentage. “Jonathan is a solid runner and an extremely tough out” said Head Coach Tom Walter.

Pryor batted .316 as a sophomore and while that average has dipped, his ability to get on base has remained very high with 33 walks and 36 hits. He is a work-the-count, table setter who bunts well and is 5-6 in stolen base attempts.

Yesterday at Virginia Tech, Pryor knocked in the go-ahead runs in a Wake Forest victory. Strongly built at 6′ 2″ and 200 pounds, Pryor swings and throws from the left side. Progressive success has been the pattern for Jonathan since he played his way into a Division I baseball role in High School.

He was named Offensive Player of the Year at Woodward Academy as a sophomore and junior … Earned Perfect Game Preseason High School All-American honors … Ranked in the Top 500 by Perfect Game … Attended 2012 Perfect Game Showcase in Minneapolis, Minn. … Two-time region champion and state semifinalist in high school … As a junior, hit .466 with 15 doubles, three triples and seven home runs.
