Congratulations to Davis Kirkpatrick (East Carolina U.) being named the 2017 Turks Player of the Week. In three appearances, the Turks reliever has fired 10 1/3 innings, while allowing no runs and striking out eight batters. The powerful right-hander, who underwent Tommy John surgery in 2015, used his sidearm delivery to cruise through eight innings of relief in Harrisonburg’s 14-inning victory over Charlottesville on June 9. Kirkpatrick, who picked up the win in the Turks’ 4-3 triumph, held the TomSox scoreless a night after they lit up the scoreboard with 17 runs in a win over Strasburg.
