Harrisonburg, VA –
Saturday night the Harrisonburg Turks faced a formidable opponent in the Charlottesville Tom Sox. At the top of the first, an error helped the Tom Sox take a 1-0 lead, setting the tone for the match early.
The utilization of four different pitchers throughout the contest proved to be little help for the Turks against an explosive lineup of batters presented by Charlottesville. With the first pitching substitution occurring after only two innings, the Turks played catch up the entire night, but would not see their luck change against a Tom Sox team that boasted twice as many runs as Harrisonburg had hits for several innings.
Despite having their four-game winning streak snapped by a difficult 8-1 loss, the Turks will look to bounce back from a minor setback with an eye on a bigger prize: maintaining and improving a record that has pushed them into playoff contention over the last few games.
