TURKS FACE SECOND PLACE WAYNESBORO IN DIVISIONAL BATTLE
The Harrisonburg Turks (15-17) hit the road to face Waynesboro (18-14). The Generals currently sit second in the South division, right ahead of the Turks in third. First pitch at Kate Collins Field is scheduled for 7pm.
Probable starters for tonight’s game are Rhett Willis (0-2) for the Turks and Gabe Mosser (2-0) for the Generals. Both pitchers will be looking to better their ERA, as they both have over a 6.00.
Last night the Turks shutout Front Royal (15-16) 2-0. The Cardinals had a half-dozen hits, but couldn’t get any runs in as they left 12 on base.
Matt Young (2-1) got his second decision of the season, working 5.0 innings and only allowing three hits and struck out eight. Zak Devermann (1-3) got the save as he worked one innings and didn’t allow any hits. Nickolas Ortega (0-2) got the loss, allowing two earned on six hits in 5.2 innings pitched.
Bryan Arias had another good performance at the plate, going 3-for-4 with a run scored. Zach Kuchmaner also had another performance with a RBI as a part of going 1-for-4 with his bat. Dylan Hardy was the only Cardinal to have multiple hits, going 2-for-4.
The Turks will be back at home tomorrow night to host the New Market Rebels (18-14), who are holding on to second place in the North. Start time is scheduled for 7:30 at Veterans Memorial Park. It will be Pack the Pews Youth Sunday!
