HARRISONBURG –  The South Division All-Stars defeated their North Division counterparts 7-3 in the Valley Baseball League All-Star Game on Sunday at Veterans Memorial Park.

Harrisonburg pitcher Kyle Arjona from the University of New Orleans started the game for the South, throwing a perfect inning during his time on the mound. His Turks and college teammate Rafe Schindler pitched the ninth inning and allowed a single that was erased by a double play and a strikeout.

Both of the Turks’ position players, Austin Embler and Zach Little, started the game in the field for the South Division. Embler was 1-for-2 with a walk and run scored while playing second base. Little was 1-for-2 with an RBI and was stationed third base despite playing in the outfield mostly for Harrisonburg.

Charlottesville’s Patrick McColl was 3-for-4 with two runs scored and Covington’s J.D. Mundy was 2-for-5 with a pair of RBIs to lead the South.
