A Trio of Miami Hurricanes Added to the 2020 Roster

Turks fans join us in welcoming three players from the U. of Miami Hurricanes to play at Veterans Memorial Park this summer.

Outfielder, Mykanthony Valdez, a freshman from Davie, FL stands 6-1 and weighs 215 pounds. He was a four-year letter-man at Calvary Christian High School. His senior year he posted a .350 batting average with 13 home runs and helped Calvary Christian win a state championship. Valdez earned first team all-county honors and first team all-district honors. The freshman plans to major in business administration.

 

 

Infielder, Tyler Paige, a junior from Miami, FL is 5-10 and weighs 180 pounds. He was a four-year letter-man at Westminster Christian High School. Paige saw action in 17 games with four starts in his first season at U. of Miami. He appeared in 10 games his sophomore year before missing the last two months of the season due to an injury. Paige has started the first four games of the 2020 season. He’s had 12 at bats with 1 run, 2 hits, 1 RBI, 1 walk and a strike out.

 

 

Left-hand pitcher, Alex Munroe, a freshman from Clerment, FL is5-10 and weights in at 210 pounds. He was a two-year letter-man at Ridge Community High School where he recorded a 1.27 ERA and 108 strikeouts in 60.2 innings his senior year. He was a Principal’s Scholar all four years of high school. Munroe intends to major in broadcast journalism. Munroe has had 2 appearances so far this 2020 season. He’s pitched 2 innings giving up 1 hit and had 3 strike outs giving him a 0.00 ERA.
