The Turks game vs. the Covington Lumberjacks was postponed due to inclement weather at the beginning of the 3rd inning. Before the game was called the Lumberjacks held a 3-2 lead over the Turks.

RHP Adam Riggleman got the start for Coach Wease’s Turks today. After giving up 2 2 out walks in his first inning of work Riggleman was able to strikeout first baseman Nathan Becker to extinguish the threat. Derek Crum then led off the bottom half with a 5 pitch walk, which was then followed up with a single to shallow center by Peyton Crispin. A wild pitch then moved Crum and Crispin up to 2nd and 3rd setting the stage for Frederic Walter to hit a sac fly out to deep center to give the Turks the early 1-0 lead.

Riggleman kept his momentum going, striking out the first batter of the 2nd. However the Lumberjacks bats caught fire. The Jacks were able to rile off 4 straight hits leading to 3 second inning runs giving the Jacks the 3-1 lead.

Travis Reifsnider then took the first pitch of the bottom half over the left field wall to cut into the Jacks lead. After the rest of the Turks side went down quietly the game was delayed and then later postponed.

The make up game will be announced.

The Turks (2-0) will be back in action tomorrow at 7:30 PM as they take on the Waynesboro Generals (0-3) at Eagle Field at Veterans Memorial Park.
