Bobby Spain Named to NAIA Rawlings Gold Glove Team

The National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) has released its 2007 Baseball All-Americans. Bobby Spain, SS for Oklahoma City University and member of the 2006 and 2007 Harrisonburg TURKS, was named to their NAIA All American – Rawlings Gold Glove Team list. Spain finished his junior year for the STARS hitting .414 in 60-60 games. He had 91 hits, 22 doubles, 3 triples, 20 home runs, and 76 RBI’s. Spain led the All Sooner Athletic Conference (SAC) in hits and doubles and tied for the RBI lead in the regular season. He was named to the SAC All Conference Team. He also is ranked 12th national in home runs and total bases. OCU teammate and 2006 TURKS teammate, OF Ryan Rachal, joined Spain on the SAC team and also was named to the NAIA All American Second Team. Rachal completed his senior season batting .380 in 60-61 games, with 79 hits in 208 at bats. He had 16 doubles, 8 triples, 15 home runs and 69 RBI’s. Ryan has signed a contract with an independent team in Corpus Christie, TX. Congratulations to two very deserving TURKS alumni.
