Arizona Pitchers Continue To Shine In The VBL The Turks closed out their regular season at Veterans Memorial Stadium tonight with an impressive win over the Waynesboro Generals 3-0. Arizona RHP Sean Jarrett (4-1) dominated the Generals in nine innings with eleven strike outs and a no-hitter while only facing twenty-nine batters. Jarrett represented the Turks pitching staff in the Valley All Star game. Jarrett’s outstanding pitching performance comes on the heels of his fellow Wildcat teammate, LHP Brad Mills’ 2-1 win over the Staunton Braves on Saturday night. Mills racked up 15 strikeouts in nine innings against the Braves. Mills has a 5-0 record with a 1.62 era in 39.0 innings of work. The Turks take the road to finish our their regular season. They face off against the Southern Division Woodstock River Bandits (15-24) on Monday and take on the Waynesboro Generals (11-29) again on Tuesday. The Turks will then have a couple days of well deserved rest while the rest of the league makes up their rained out games. The play-off format is as follows: Intra-division Series-Best 2 out of 3; #1 vs #4 and #2 vs #3 Intra-division Championship Series-Best 2 out of 3 VBL Championship Series-Best 3 out of 5; North Winner vs South Winner Check back for the play-off schedule.
