Week 7 Harrisonburg (26-13 overall, 2.5 games back) The Turks became the second team to clinch a playoff spot as they went 3-3 and sit just 2.5 games back of first place Waynesboro for the top seed in the Valley League playoffs. Harrisonburg had the second-best ERA in the league last week at 2.42 but was hurt by quiet bats as they had the second worst batting average in the league at .215. On the mound Rod Brantley went 7.1 innings, giving up seven hits, no earned run, three walks and six strikeouts to lead Harrisonburg. Closer Garrett Parker picked up two saves, in two appearances. He went two innings, gave up one hit, one walk and struck out four. Offensively, outfielder Robert Taylor hit .438 with three runs scored, a home run, two RBIs and seven hits. Second baseman Travis Peep hit .333 with a run scored, a double, two walks and an RBI.
