7/31/2007 – Turk Tidbits

Written By Jessica Merrill James Madison University Sports Management Intern Harrisonburg, Va. – Tonight the Turks (2) fell to the Covington Lumberjacks (7) in the first game of round one of the season playoffs. The Lumberjacks topped Harrisonburg by a score of 4-1 despite the early lead given to the Turks by a solo shot from second baseman Travis Peep (Chandler, Arizhttps://harrisonburgturks.com/NewsManager/Arizona). Pitcher Ryan Ellison (Clanton, Alahttps://harrisonburgturks.com/NewsManager/Troy) took the loss for the Turks but still gave a solid performance on the mound for the Turks striking out ten. The Turks will travel to Covington tonight to play what could possibly be their last game of the 2007 season. A win would bring them back to Harrisonburg on Thursday for the deciding game.
