06/28/2009 – Turks Tidbits

Turks Player of the Week 3 was a close call to make. The Turks hitting started to come around this week with numerous players making big contributions. We are very proud of the team and these standouts:

Shortstop, Victor Croglio, (U. of Richmond) has a .368 overall BA and was 6-12 for the week. First baseman, Bobby Brown (U. of Arizona) has a .344 overall BA and was 10-20, 5 runs and 1 RBI for the week. Designated Hitter, Mike Schwartz (U. of Tampa) has a .326 overall BA and was 6-14, with 4 runs, 4 RBIs and drew 9 walks for a .625% on-base percentage. Schwartz leads the Valley League in OB Pct. with .544% and 19 walks. The Texas Steakhouse Player of the Week #3 for the Harrisonburg Turks will be Mike Schwartz. Congratulations Mike. Continued success for a great season with the Turks.
