The awards keep rolling in for the Turks!
Third baseman Ty McFarland (JMU) was named a Louisville Slugger Freshman All-American after hitting .278 with 14 doubles as a Dukes freshman. First baseman/outfielder Chris Marconcini (Duke) was also named to the Freshman All-American team following a stellar season that saw him post a .393 on-base percentage and .481 slugging percentage.
And outfielder Dodson McPherson continues to collect the hardware, as he was named a first-team All-American by the American Baseball Coaches Association. Daktronics selected McPherson as a second-team All-American in their awards as well. He also won Southeast Region Player of the Year and NCCSIA All-State honors.
Congratulations to all three players, who are already serving as key cogs in the Turks offense this summer!
