The Valley Baseball League announces its Player and Pitcher of the Week selections each week, generally on Monday afternoon, the VBL selects one pitcher and one player from each of its three divisions for its weekly honors.

Congratulations to Harrisonburg Turks RHP Justin Somers for claiming the Central Division Pitcher of the Week Two honors.

Somers threw a complete game four-hitter in his only outing of the week to help keep Harrisonburg at the top of the VBL standings. Somers, from Wingate University and Wilmington, N.C., had nine strikeouts in the complete game victory over Staunton.
