Week 3 Turks Player of the Week selections have been released. Right fielder Mac Williamson (Wake Forest) and RHP Eric Meyerchick (St. Joseph’s) share this week’s recognition.
Mac was a force for the Turks driving in a league best 11 runs last week. Williamson hit .400 with 12 hits, including two doubles and a league-best two home runs, in 30 at-bats over seven games. Williamson is leading the Turks for the season with a .369 BA in 65 at bats, scoring 13 runs, 24 hits, 4 doubles, 5 home runs, and 21 RBI’s.
Eric Meyerchick won two games for the Turks last week. Posting a 9-4 win against the Luray Wranglers on Tuesday. Eric pitched 6 innings, giving up 7 hits, 4 runs, 3 earned runs, 1 walk, and 7 strike outs. On a rainy Sunday night Meyerchick recorded a win against the New Market Rebels 9-5 in 6 innings, giving up 8 hits, 5 runs, 3 earned runs, 4 walks, and 7 strike outs. On the season Meyerchick is 4-0 and holds a 2.86 ERA in 34.2 IP, giving up 26 hits, 14 runs, 11 earned runs, 11 walks, 31 strike outs.
