07/04/2011 – Turks Tidbits

The Valley Baseball League announced their Player of the Week Awards. Harrisonburg Turks right-fielder Mac Williamson (Wake Forest) and Julio Felix (Pima C.C.) earned Central Division honors.

Williamson earned his second VBL Player of the Week honor after hitting .423 with a league-best 12 RBI last week. The Wake Forest Demon Deacon had two doubles and a VBL-high four home runs last week to help the Turks (21-6) maintain their Central Division lead.

Felix, tossed a complete game shutout on Tuesday in a 7-0 victory over Central Division rival Luray Wranglers (9-16). Felix walked two and struck out eight in earning the win.
