Turks Avenge Only Loss of the Season

W: Kraft (2-0)
L: Broome (1-1)
S: Karr (3)

Mike Kraft (2-0) remained unbeaten in his second start of the season, and the Harrisonburg Turks (7-1) avenged their only loss of the season as they edged out the Rockbridge Rapids on the road 6-5.

The Turks jumped out to an early 5-1 lead in part to another strong outing by Kraft. In his first start since opening night, the Turks starter posted 3 K’s and three earned runs in six innings. Kraft’s second night on the mound was nicely complemented by solid performances at the plate by first baseman Brian Yeung (2/5, 1 RBI) and catcher Eric Mason (2/3). Their early blitz of Rockbridge starter Tyler Broome (1-1) allowed the Turks to survive the Rapids’ late rally and hang on for the win.

Joshua Karr earned a save for the Turks, his third of the season.

The Turks will return home on Sunday, June 10 to face the Waynesboro Generals for the second time this season. Harrisonburg has played four consecutive road games and remains perfect on the road this season.
